With an understanding of the New Vision of the Church, Our diocesan Pastoral Parishad has formed eight commissions. One of them is Social Concern Committee. This committee has planned that on the 1st of November, Rajyothsava Day that is coming Saturday; all the parishes in our diocese will held a cleanliness programme in their own area. Hence we will had this “Cleaning our area” programme on November 1st from 8.30 am to 11 am. Many associations and many parishioners joined to this activity and carried on the work. The chief guests of the day were, Mr Mahabala Marla the Mayor of Mangaluru, Mr Ivan Dsouza, MLC, corporaters -Mr Naveen Dsouza, Mrs Sabitha Misquith, MR D K Ashok. The president of the day Rev Fr Antony Serrao, the Parish Priest of Bendur welcomed the gathering and encouraged people to clean the surrounding. The chief guests whole heartedly appreciated the activity that we have under taken. The first citizen of Mangaluru, the Mayor Mr Mahabala along with other chief guests inaugurated the activity by opening the banner and sweeping a portion in church compound. There after the parishioners continued the activity of cleaning the surrounding in front of church, Shivabagh, Lobo Lane, Upper Bendur, Balmata areas.
